DISCLAIMER: I’M BEING IRONIC

You know what? I’m just sick of people bagging out our side. I’ve had it up to hear with people saying Almunia’s not good enough, Diaby is terrible, Denilson is a softy, Sagna’s handsomer than my uncle.

I am fed to the teeth with you phony fans out there slating our players. What on earth is the point of supporting a side if you are filled with such vitriol for those that comprise it?

I’m looking at you, Arsene Wenger.

So after one loss – just one loss – your knives are out for this side. After one hiccup in a difficult fixture, you kick these players while they’re down. Well I’ve had it with ‘fans’ like you. Imagine how Pat Rice feels!

The ‘Gaffer’, as he deigns to be called, has now come out and goaded Arsenal for ‘choking’ against Sunderland. He says:

“If you want to score goals you have to go behind the defenders. We choked a little bit and chose the easy part of the game.

“Mentally it’s a blow. It’s a big disappointment because we know it was a very important game that we couldn’t afford to lose and we perhaps under-estimated how difficult it would be for us here.

Frankly I’m not really surprised anymore. Scores of fans have slammed the team for imagined-faults and failed to give them the encouragement and backing they deserve. Now Arsene Wenger – someone I expected it from least of all – has stuck the dagger in.

Fairweather fans, eh?

That will do. To be frank, there’s not too much happening in Arsenal-land at the moment. Just a few odds and ends: Stan Kroenke’s purchased 10 more shares; Marouane Chamakh is allegedly off Arsenal’s radar; Armand Traore is backing a punt against Chelsea (that’s how it’s done, Arsene!), Wenger spares his harsh words for the team by praising Vela (favouritism!!!!) and Toure has a little whinge about ’some Arsenal player’ who forced him out.

It was probably Gallas, but given the good service Kolo gave us for so many years, I won’t begrudge him a whine and a moan. Thick skins and whatnot.

Right. That’s another nonsensical article done for the day. Champions League coming up soon.
