The situation at Barcelona reminds me of my boyhood days. I used to have a collection of toys so huge that i couldnt care less if someone else took it. But when i would see a younger cousin play with it and having a great time ... I would be jealous. I WANT MY TOY BACK EVEN IF I HAVE TO SHOVE IT IN THE CUPBOARD. Thats exactly what is happening in Catalunia. If Barca really appreciated the talent they had,Cesc would not have been at Arsenal. They didnt let go of MEssi. Now that we have worked hard on him and improved him they see the BARCA DNA. I like the way BARCA play but really their conduct is very unprofessional. As for Cesc staying or going it is his decision but i am sure he could be a legend if he stays here like Henry but if he goes he could end up like Anelka.

Barcelona are certainly the best side in Europe at the moment so I really don't see why they need Fabrigas. My guess is, they see Arsenal as a growing threat and the best way to stop that threat is to relieve them of their best players. They've done it before with Henry, Hleb, Overmars and Petit. None of those players improved after leaving Arsenal, in fact, they spent more time on the bench than playing football.
So Cesc beware, Barca don't give a monkey about your career. Just so long as they can weaken the opposition then probably pack you off to Stuttgart on loan or the like.

Did you ever stop to question why a similar thing is not being attempted for say Messi or even Rafael Marques at Barca. The answer is pretty simple. Barca are treble winners and are perhaps the best club to play for. there is nothing (other than inflated salaries may be) that clubs can offer to lure players away. So if arsenal are to hang on to Cesc, we need to win something.

Slow news week eh?

The story is sustained by Barca officials, Arsenal bloggers & British hacks. It's so tedious that I wonder what gains there are to be found in the stories.

The same thing happened to Reyes and R.Madrid. They were constantly talking about him and publicly tapping him up then some spansih journalist phoned him up and pretended to be the Madrid president and recorded the whiole conversation and broadcast it in Spain. Reyes had to leave after that and his career has fgone down the toilet, which is sad because he was a quality player. The probelm is that in Spain there are tow sport papers that clarly support Barca and Madrid (Sport and Marca) and they are always trying to link, approach and make moves for players they want at their respective clubs. Arsenal dont have that sort of media machine but maybe we should get one!!

You forgot the other complicit party in all this...the British press. They're so eager to see Cesc leave and to trumpet Arsenal's demise because of his departure that they'll reprint every fart and wink that Sport cares to publish. That, more than what's actually said in Spain causes us Arsenal supporters to have continuing frustration with this matter. If the British press at least dealt with all the comments coming from Spain in a fair manner, instead of constant, roaring headlines announcing Cesc's imminent departure, I think most Gooners would relax a bit over things.

Having said that, you're correct in noting that winning a trophy would go a very long way towards shutting a lot of people up. So...it's all left to do for AW and the lads.
